Assistance Information:  
We maintain a list of people and agencies  that, for compensation, perform various tasks for the elderly.  This list is composed of people who provide companion and homemaker services, nursing duties, transportation, odd jobs, etc.  The family in need of such assistance assumes complete responsibility for checking into the qualifications and references of the provider and negotiating their own financial arrangements. Click here  for a list of people and agencies.

Income Tax Assistance:
The AARP tax volunteers provide free tax assistance to elderly Farmington residents during the tax season by appointment only.  AARP tax volunteers will be here every Thursday starting the 1st Thursday of February through the Thursday closest to the April 15th filing deadline.  Appointment times are 10 & 11 am and 1 & 2 pm.  Appointments may be made by calling the Services for the Elderly office at 860-673-1441.  No appointments will be accepted before January 1.   Click here for what information to bring.
